Nestled inside the Anglican Church Hall of Holy Redeemer Christ Church in Sea Point, MELF Montessori on Kloof is a small, welcoming school open to children aged 1½ to 6, regardless of faith background. What began in 2003 as Sea Point Montessori has grown steadily; when the Montessori Early Learning Foundation took over in January 2019, only two children were enrolled.
Today MELF oversees the school’s administration, legal and financial compliance, while mentoring teachers to keep the Montessori programme authentic and of high quality. Day-to-day teaching is led by the classroom staff, with MELF team members popping in regularly to lend support. The school follows the WCED school calendar and closes for all public and school holidays.
