Pretty Palms Educare in Bellair, Durban, was started in 2012 by Bilkish Vawda, who identified a need for an inclusive early childhood centre. Beginning with just four learners, two with special educational needs, it now cares for 54 children with a team of six teachers, supported by Grow ECD. It is known for low-cost teaching aids made from recycled materials, including literacy cards, story bags and play kits.
