What exactly is Vygotsky School of Play? Simply put, it’s a learning centre where children grow at their own pace and are supported to reach their full potential. The programme covers fine motor, gross motor, language, mathematics and every other learning area, making sure milestones are met and skills are built so each child is fully ready for their education journey. Learning happens through play and real-life experience, using genuine equipment and time spent exploring nature to help children make sense of the world.
The school takes a distinctive approach, letting children learn with their whole bodies and move freely at their own pace. Vygotsky’s theories are woven into the daily programme, with plenty of room made for social interaction and imaginative play, all aimed at growing each child’s imagination. Weekly activities include gardening, baking, creative art and movement, with baking used to teach volume and real tea parties used to build social skills. Real equipment gives children the tools they need to develop the skills required for Grade R and beyond.
